I got pulled into amateur radio the way a lot of people do — chasing that first improbable long-haul contact and then wanting to understand why it happened. That curiosity about propagation, the ionosphere, and the Sun-Earth connection is what DXRadar grew out of. I wanted a single place that showed what the bands are actually doing right now, backed by real data rather than a stale widget.
Away from the radio I'm a long-time hardware and homelab tinkerer, which is why DXRadar runs the way it does: live NOAA data pipelines, a real backend, and propagation math I can verify — not guesswork. When I write that a band is open or a storm is degrading high-latitude paths, it's tied to live measurements and named sources.
